Expectations: I have high expectations for each and every one of my students. There have been many studies done proving that high expectations set by the teacher will help students preform better in the classroom. Listed below are a set of expectations I have for my students:
Each student to act in a profession manner at all times.
Each student should always be respectful to their teachers as well as their fellow students.
Each student should arrive on time for class.
Each student should always come to class prepared and ready to work.
Each student should complete their assignments including homework.
Each student should respect the subject matter taught in the classroom.
Finally, I expect my students to know that I am always available for any questions that might arise during the semester.
Expectations for assignments in the classroom will vary from time to time. For this situation I will use an expectations flip chart. The chart will be displayed in front of the class during the assigned working time, and it will cover topics such as if the students are allowed to talk to one another, get up from their seats, work together, etc. An example of how the flip chart looks is displayed below:
*I will express my expectations to the students on the very first day of class and we will continuously work together on these expectations for the rest of the year so that I can help my students will reach their full potential.
